Most of the cases, the online data entry companies that offer data entry jobs only require that you fill out a registration form and have a computer with internet and a valid e-mail address. Most of these companies do ask for a start up or registration fee. The fee doesn't cost much compared to what you'll gain later.

The registration fee i.e. initial start up fees cover the software, e-books and any training material that they will send to you.
Note: The companies usually do not allow you to deduct the fee from your online data entry income as the fee comes from the service provider whereas the income that you'll be receiving comes from the company you will be engaged to for your data entry work.
